And He said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:15-16
We are ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), and God has given us the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel so that the lost are saved. The mission of the church is to glorify God and to “proclaim the Gospel to the whole world” (Mark 16:15). Every believer and every church is entrusted with the Gospel in order that we may be found “standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).
We have several ways to serve the Lord, evangelize, and make new disciples here at Pendleton Street Baptist Church. We support several missionaries overseas, offer opportunities to go on missions trips (check out our last trip to the Philippines here), and have local evangelistic ministries as well, such as our GPS Children's Program, which serves the children and families in Greenville's West End. The commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) and to be witness for Christ (Acts 1:8) is given to the church. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are to reach our families, friends, communities, workplaces, city, state, nation, and world with the Gospel.
